How did the SideLyer originate?

More than a decade ago, the SideLyer was created when a night-shift nurse at Quest Inc. identified a critical issue. Residents who could not reposition themselves were suffering from preventable pressure injuries, and caregivers were experiencing physical strain and injuries from manual lifting. With the support of her husband, a carpenter, she built the first SideLyer from wood, designing it in multiple sizes to fit each resident.
The early prototypes were personalized with colors, stickers, trays, and storage, eventually becoming a trusted tool that improved safety, comfort, and engagement. Over time, this concept evolved into a patented motorized system that meets industry standards.
